I have always been enthralled by a master artist’s ability to capture a moment or idea in a painting. I had classical art training at Paier Collage of Art and fell in love with the brush on canvas as soon as turpentine evaporated in the air.
My paintings have appeared in art galleries and juried exhibitions in Connecticut, New York and Maine. In 1998, I increased my focus on plein-air painting, following my passion for painting landscapes and farms in the local area surrounding my home.
In 2002, I first visited Monhegan Island and fell in love with its rugged beauty; returning every summer, painting from sun up to sun down daily. There on the Island I have produced some of my most memorable works.
In 2004, I began entering juried art exhibitions and museum shows. Preferring to express my passion in oil, my works have garnered numerous awards from, The Hudson Valley Art Association, The Academic Artists Association, The Butler Museum in Youngstown, Ohio, The American Artists Professional League and the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
I am currently co-President of the Hudson Valley Art Association
In 2019 I was honored to be "Artist of the Year" on Monhegan Island, Maine, with a solo exhibition at the Island Inn.
